I paint landscapes in oil and mostly paint out of doors, or ‘en plein air,’ where I can fully immerse myself in the sights, smells and sounds of a location and time of day. From the first strokes of underpainting, to the last tiny dabs of color, I’m consumed by observing and depicting my subject, translating the thought and feelings from my head and heart to the canvas, as a record of how I experienced that particular location and time.
